Trees Knoxville receives transformative $1.7 million grant via the Inflation Reduction Act

We’re excited to announce that we’ve been awarded a five-year $1.7 million grant from the U.S. Forest Service to bring more canopy cover to underserved areas of Knoxville. That means an urban canopy expansion of 7,500 new trees! The grant will support Trees Knoxville staffing, tree purchasing and giveaways, workforce training, and more. This will make a huge impact on the city and also on the future of our organization—we’ll be sharing more details as we begin implementing the funding.
