Trees Knoxville is partnering with Ijams Nature Center for the annual Weed Wrangle Knoxville event. This will be the second invasive species removal at Lennon-Seney United Methodist Church, located in the heart of Knoxville.
The focus of this Weed Wrangle site will be the removal of privet, an invasive plant that threatens native ecosystems and biodiversity. By removing privet, volunteers will help restore a healthier habitat for native plants and wildlife.
Lunch will be provided by the church, and we are incredibly grateful for the time and energy of our volunteers who make this work possible.
Trees Knoxville and Ijams will provide the following equipment:
• Shovels and other digging tools
• Gloves
• Safety vests
